Who should take Spravato?
SPRAVATO® is the only FDA-approved nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression that can be taken with or without an oral antidepressant, giving you more options and flexibility. It can help reduce depression symptoms when antidepressants haven't worked well for you. Spravato is not a pill you have to take every day. It is an FDA-approved nasal spray, taken under the supervision of healthcare providers.
Indications
SPRAVATO® is for use alone or in combination with an oral antidepressant for:

Adults with treatment-resistant depression who have tried 2 or more antidepressants

For use in combination with an oral antidepressant for:
Depressive symptoms in adults with MDD with acute suicidal ideation or behavior
Is SPRAVATO® nasal spray different than ketamine infusion?
SPRAVATO® (esketamine) CIII nasal spray is a derivative of ketamine. SPRAVATO® is an FDA-approved nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression; it is also approved to treat depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder with suicidal thoughts or actions. Ketamine has not been approved by the FDA to treat depression. Both SPRAVATO® and ketamine are Schedule III controlled substances under the US Controlled Substances Act.


Dosing Frequency for Treatment-Resistant Depression
After you and your healthcare provider have decided SPRAVATO® is right for you – and you understand the benefits and risks – you can start planning for treatment.

Your healthcare provider will work with you to determine if SPRAVATO® should be taken with or without an oral antidepressant

For the first month, you'll take SPRAVATO® twice per week and then once per week for the second month.
