Tawnee Yelle, PMHNP-BC

Hi, my name is Tawnee Yelle. I am an advanced practice psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have 5 years of nursing under my belt with 3 years of psychiatric care experience. This was not my first venture however, just like many other people I couldn’t make up my mind so, I have an additional degree in psychology. I never stopped being passionate about mental health, but I began becoming passionate about the science of patient care. Luckily, I found out after becoming a nurse that I could combine the two worlds, so I returned to school to earn my master’s as a Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner . I became passionate about mental health because I have a brother who struggles himself. Thru this I witnessed how hard it can be to get help, how the long wait and desperation to just feel okay can lead to self-medication and how this can lead to addiction. My goal has always been to make psychiatric care more accessible so that this process ceases to continue. In my free time I enjoy traveling, paddle boarding, snowboarding and spending time with my 200lb dog and his Chihuahua sister and my little life I built with my wife.
