Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
or Psychiatric Physician Assistant
Daya Mental Health and Wellness is seeking to hire a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP or Psychiatric Physician Assistant PA to complement our existing staff of therapists and PMHNP/ PAs. Our practice has been serving Western North Carolina for many years and is widely respected in the community. Our practitioners include Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatric Physician Assistant and two admin employees, one of which is an RN. We are a small, outpatient practice that is collegial, with frequent consultation among practitioners as the norm. We offer a chance to practice independently in a context featuring strong professional support from experienced colleagues. In addition, internal consultation and easy referrals are readily available.
The ideal candidate will be a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Physician Assistant licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina whose areas of focus coincide with those of the practice, particularly the care of clients with addiction, trauma, mood disorders, eating disorders and ADHD. Our practice sees a variety of ages and conditions and will enable you to choose what comfort level you have in treating specific conditions.
Job Type: Full-time, In person and telehealth. Flexible but pending DEA requirements this may require more in person than telehealth
Requirements: Unrestricted North Carolina Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license, DEA license, ability to be credentialed with all insurance companies. Unfortunately we need a PMHNP and are unable to employ an FNP at this time.
What we are looking for in an employee:
-Dependable individual that multitasks well.
-Must be able to be credentialed with numerous insurance companies
-Must be comfortable working with clients that have a variety of mental health issues
-Must be able to pass a urine drug screen
Little more about the position:
-This position pays a percentage of collected. Average yearly income is 200,000 +
-We will provide you with a supervising physician and cover their costs
-Your hours and days that you work will be your choice as long as you commit to 32 hours per week. Until completely credentialed with all insurance companies this amount may be less
-Office staff will take care of scheduling, returning patient calls, billing, collecting copays, ordering medications from specialty pharmacies, giving injections, obtaining drug screens
-Approximate times for appointments are 1 hour for initial evals and 30 minute follow ups.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year

Are you a therapist that wants to go into practice on your own? Need help trying to figure out what in the hell you're doing? Want to start your own private practice with a full caseload? I will be starting a new practice building mentorship program that will allow a therapist to start off working with us for 14 months and leave with a fully functional practice with a full caseload. During the first year you will get biweekly, one on one sessions to teach you how to set up your practice and take care of every aspect of the "business" side of things. The last 2 months of the program will include transitioning you over to your own practice and making sure that transition is smooth with your insurance billing and payments. Yes, I teach you all about coding and billing!!! We usually have our therapists caseload full in about 2 months and when we transition you out, we will transition all of your clients with you. Starting your business out with a full caseload will give you a head start to success that lots of people struggle with.
About me: I am a PMHNP that started Daya in 2018 with $500. Yep...thats it. No loans. No investors. Just $500 bucks. It has since grown into this successful, beautiful group practice that employs some of the most amazing humans I've ever had the pleasure to meet. I have made a lot of very solid decisions since 2018, but I have also made some pretty solid fuck ups as well. Did I mention that I probably cuss more than any practitioner should and if you apply for this job, you need to be ok with the casual daily (hourly?) use of the word fuck. I am absolutely not everyones cup of tea, but I can teach you how to be a damn good business person, so I figure one cancels out the other.
Who we are looking for: We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive therapist who feels confident in their therapy skills but may feel uncertain about the business side of things. The ideal candidate is eager to take initiative, ask questions, and learn new skills that weren’t emphasized in school, particularly in running their own private practice. Someone who is adhd savvy, knowledge and skill with autism and ideally has some ocd training. Prefer an LCAS but not necessary if they have some understanding of SUD. Must have an active license (or associate license) as a LCSW or LCMHC. Ability to see approx 25 clients a week. Benefits include health, dental, PTO, CEU and license $$. Telehealth and in person options. Must have some in person availability. $55-65,000 DOE.
